The objective of the project was to develop, test and prepare for implementation a decision support tool for road projects (PMS) for the adaptation of road networks to the traffic of trucks with an axle load of up to 11.5 tonnes. The consortium implementing the project included Ministry of Infrastructure and Construction - consortium leader, Road and Bridge Research Institute, General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways, Wroclaw University of Technology. In order to achieve the objectives of the project, it was planned to carry out research and development work aimed at developing a decision support tool for road projects (PMS) for adapting road networks to the traffic of trucks with axle loads of up to 11.5 tonnes, and then to carry out preparatory actions for the implementation of the tool in business practice, including a pilot demonstration of the implementation plan in the area of two provinces, popularisation activities and the development of guidelines for the use of the tool by entities managing the national and regional road network. The elaborated, tested and prepared for implementation tool to support decisions related to road projects (PMS) regarding the adaptation of road networks to the traffic of trucks with an axle load of up to 11.5 tonnes will constitute the main impact of the project implementation.
